Creating a bespoke engagement ring is an art form. Unlike mass-produced high-street jewellery, your Rubie Rae ring is guided entirely by traditional British craftsmanship and a highly personal, step-by-step collaboration. Here is exactly how we bring your dream ring to life:

Step 1: Consultation & Custom Design Concepts

We begin with a relaxed, private consultation in our Harrogate studio to map out your ideas. From there, we translate your vision into bespoke design concepts for you to review. Once you are completely happy, we finalize the master design.

Step 2: Sourcing & Reviewing Your Gemstones

With the design set, we ethically source a selection of exceptional diamonds or gemstones tailored to your criteria. You will review these stones firsthand, examining their fire, cut, and brilliance in person to select the exact centerpiece for your ring.

Step 3: The Master Goldsmith’s Creation

Once your stones are chosen, our master goldsmith takes over. They hand-craft a precise physical model of your design, which is then cast in your chosen precious metal. The raw casting is meticulously cleaned, refined, and given an initial polish by hand.

Step 4: Hallmarking & Expert Stone Setting

Before any stones are secured, the cast ring is sent to the official Assay Office to receive its traditional British hallmark—your legal guarantee of precious metal purity. Once hallmarked, our master setter sets your chosen diamonds or gemstones with microscopic precision. Your ring then receives its final master polish, bringing it to a flawless, brilliant shine ready for your proposal.
